Worldnesia is an Indonesian language learning center that has the purpose of fostering mutual understanding between people around the World and Indonesia.

We are on a mission to help 500 expats who live and work in Indonesia speak like locals and connect with the locals.

To accomplish that mission, we are looking for core team members who resonate with our purpose and want to grow together with us to make an impact on the Indonesian language education industry. We really hope you are one of them!

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Use foreign language skills to teach practical Indonesian language course to small group classes that focuses on improving learners’ communication skills, 15 – 20 hours per week.
  2. Facilitate an engaging conversation class to enhance learners’ speaking skills and integrate cultural elements into conversations to broaden their understanding of the language and its context.
  3. Analyse learners’ communication needs, goals, strengths, and weaknesses and give actionable advice to enhance their language proficiency.
  4. Track and inform learners’ progress to the direct supervisor periodically and provide written evaluation reports for learners at the end of every session and after finishing one-level programs.
  5. Participate in weekly and monthly meeting to report on learners’ study progress and classroom concerns
  6. Maintain high professional standards and is responsible and reliable attitude.
  7. Develop effective and engaging contents and activities about Indonesia and the language that are relevant to our learners’ communication needs.
  8. Actively participate in and help organize Worldnesia initiatives and activities to provide opportunities for expats to speak Indonesian and deepen their knowledge about the local culture.

Requirements

The must haves:

  1. Want to pursue a long-term career as Indonesian language educator and passionate in promoting Indonesia to the world
  2. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (S1) in any major (does not necessarily from literature or education background).
  3. Foreign language skills proven by language test certification which should not exceed 2 years validity (JLPT N2 / TOEFL ITP >550)
  4. Learner’s oriented and possess the ability to give local insights, especially about Indonesian mindset, life philosophy, and traditions.
  5. Great communication skills (verbal and written)
  6. Tech-savvy
  7. Live in Jakarta or willing to relocate to Jakarta.
  8. 1 reference (ex. Employer or lecturer) who can vouch for you in this position
  9. One year of working experience and/or internship experience.
  10. Able to work .
  11. Able to participate in and pass the Worldnesia educator intensive training (on-site) that will be held from February 12th – March 5th with the following schedule:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday  : 10 am – 3 pm

    Saturday             : 9 am – 6 pm

  12. Able to commit to a 2-years work contract.

Good to have:

  1. Fluent Japanese-speaking communication ability
  2. UKBI Certificate with 5 sections (minimum rank: Unggul)
  3. Studying/living abroad experience
  4. BIPA teaching experience / teaching foreign languages to adult learners

  1. Develop partnership and close business deals with potential B2B companies for their expat Indonesian language training program by researching lists of high potential prospects
  2. Handle and convert incoming potential leads into learners
  3. Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions to learners and partners

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business or Marketing Communication
  2. 1 – 2+ years’ of sales or account management experience
  3. Passionate about everything related to Indonesia and want to be the agent of change to bridge the World and Indonesia
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Get to know Worldnesia Educator Fellowship

This is a part-time fellowship program that aims for Indonesian educator development, initiated by Worldnesia. The fellowship focuses on developing right mindset to teach a second language to adult learners, particularly those aged 35-50, and understanding practical Indonesian language teaching approaches for both 1-on-1 and group classes, which will give you confidence and add value to your role as an Indonesian language educator. Whether you are looking for your first Indonesian language educator opportunity or you want to escalate your teaching practice, WEF is the right program you need.

Who is WEF for?

  1. Fresh graduates from any major and new educators who are seeking opportunities to become Indonesian language educators for adult learners
  2. Indonesian language educators with 1 – 2 years of teaching experience who want to be more practical in delivering Indonesian language courses, especially to adult learners
  3. You who are interested in promoting the joy of living in Indonesia through various activities related to Indonesian and its language, aka the “Local Expert”

How you will be assessed:

  1. Attendance
  2. Assignments
  3. Teaching practice

You will need to allocate a minimum of 10 hours per week for self-study and sit-in classes on the first month and a minimum of 5 hours per week for the second to fourth month for hands-on teaching experiences with our adult learners, either on a 1 on 1 or group class setting, and create social media contents to showcase yourself as a local expert. Assessment is based on your overall performance.

WEF Program Summary

Program length               : 100 hours

Period                                : May 02 – September 01, 2023 (4 months)

Format                              : Part-time and online fellowship

Assesment                       : Attendance, assignments, assessed teaching practice

Entry requirement:

The Must Haves:

  • Learner-oriented mindset and ability to give local insights as a local expert.
  • Have a growth mindset (beginners’ mind and thirst for learning).
  • Open mind and have a Can-Do attitude.
  • Age between 22 and 30 years old.
  • Local or International graduates from any field of study (minimum of a bachelor’s degree (S1) with a GPA of 3.00)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English or other foreign languages (proven with language test certification. It should be less than 2 years (IELTS =6.5, JLPT N3, TOEFL ITP >500))
  • Able to fulfil fellowship period (4 months) and its responsibilities
  • Tech-savvy
  • Have good internet connection (min. 5Mbps) and camera (2 megapixel).

Good to have:

  • 1 year of professional working experience
  • Study or live abroad experience
  • Adult teaching experience (approximately 35-55 years old)
  • Fluent Japanese, Korean, or Chinese speaking communication ability
  • Indonesian language teaching experience
  • Flipped classroom experience
